Friday & Saturday, November 9 & 10

Friday morning I made it out of bed early enough for a walk on the treadmill. Brekkie: porridge, apple, banana, yogurt. Mocha to go.

I went to the ball exercise class at 12 and it was really a solid workout. Came home and opened a jar of chicken soup, added veggies and noodles. 2 slices flax bread toast on the side. Hubby was sleeping off night shift so I did some work on the laptop from home. Had peas and grapes for snack.

Later we had a tossed salad, then butternut squash and a steak. Went to bed at a decent time to prepare for a big day in the kitchen today.

But first we slept in late enough that I skipped the treadmill in favor of emptying the rest of the open shelves in the kitchen so Jim could start bashing them out. I made sourdough whole-wheat pancakes with applesauce and yogurt on the side and then we got to serious work.

We came up for air mid-afternoon and decided to go to town to grab a burger (and fries and a chocolate milk, for me) because the kitchen was quite non-functional and we didn't want to take a bunch of time. We did get our passport photos done also, and ordered our range hood. Came home and worked till about 8. Up so far, five upper cabinets. Filler strips still needed. But we figured out a couple of major things with the wiring today too. (Concrete block walls make electrical entertaining.)

So supper time had come and gone...I fixed us a chef salad and now we're both a bit collapsed. Jim hurt his leg yesterday out in the yard, and my shoulders aren't the happiest with holding upper cabinets up against the wall while the bolts went through.

However tomorrow we will be doing more of the same. I think the filler strips are on the agenda and then the wiring/ plumbing for the dishwasher and wiring for the microwave. Hopefully it will get moved into its new location yet this weekend.

Photos to come in a few days over at the other blog.

Still have to wash up the few dishes we've dirtied since I did the breakfast dishes. In a few minutes....
